City Council Regular Meeting Minutes

A regular meeting of the Lenox City Council was called to order by Mayor Douglas on October 12, 2026 at 5:30 p.m. at City Hall with the following council members answering roll call: Peterson, Huffman, Tull, Hodges and Beck. Staff present was City Clerk, Dawne Bowman and City Administrator, Allison Kitzman. Visitors at the meeting were Colleen Larimer and Deputy Erik Peterson.

Hodges made a motion to approve the agenda, seconded by Beck, all ayes, motion carried. Peterson made a motion to approve 9/28/26 regular meeting minutes, seconded by Tull, all ayes, motion carried. Tull made a motion to approve payment of the bills, seconded by Hodges, all ayes, motion carried. Peterson made a motion to approve September 2026 Clerk Treasurer Report, seconded by Huffman, all ayes, motion carried.

Peterson made a motion to approve Pay Application #2 for Lenox Pool Improvements in the amount of $73,079.87, seconded by Hodges, all ayes, motion carried.

Peterson made a motion to approve Pay Application #1 for Cemetery Road Paving Project in the amount of $14,065.00, seconded by Beck, all ayes, motion carried.

Beck made a motion to approve Beggar’s Night for October 31, 2026 from 5-8PM, seconded by Huffman, all ayes, motion carried.

Hodges made a motion to approve Special Event Permit Application for Trunk or Treat Parade, seconded by Tull, all ayes, motion carried.

Tull made a motion to approve Extension and Amendment to the Memorandum of Understanding with the Iowa Department of Revenue Regarding State of Iowa Set Off Program, seconded by Huffman, all ayes, motion carried.

Tull motioned to adjourn the meeting, Peterson seconded, all ayes, motion carried. Meeting adjourned at 5:40 PM.
