CITY OF LENOX

A regular meeting of the Lenox City Council was called to order by Mayor Douglas on March 24, 2025 at 5:30 p.m. at City Hall with the following council members answering roll call: Peterson, Huffman, Tull, Hodges and Cruz. Staff present was City Clerk, Dawne Bowman and City Administrator, Allison Kitzman. Visitor was Colleen Larimer.

Peterson made a motion to approve the agenda, seconded by Hodges, all ayes, motion carried. Peterson made a motion to approve 3/10/25 meeting minutes, seconded by Hodges, all ayes, motion carried. Tull made a motion to approve payment of the bills, seconded by Cruz, all ayes, motion carried.

At 5:30 PM Hodges opened the Public Hearing on Budget Amendment #1 for FY25, seconded by Peterson. There were no comments heard from the public. At 5:32 PM, Tull made a motion to close the Public Hearing, seconded by Cruz, all ayes, motion carried.

Hodges made a motion to approve Resolution 25-16 Budget Amendment #1 Adoption, seconded by Tull. Roll Call votes-all ayes, motion carried.

Tull made a motion to approve Resolution 25-17 Setting Public Hearing for April 14, 2025 at 5:40 PM for Budget FY Adoption, seconded by Hodges, all ayes, motion carried.

Hodges made a motion to approve Lakeside Country Club Class C Retail Alcohol with Outdoor Service Application, second by Peterson, all ayes, motion carried.

Colleen Larimer entered the meeting.

Peterson made a motion to approve CDBG Catalyst Grant Draw Request #2 in the amount of $40,000, seconded by Cruz, all ayes, motion carried.

Kitzman discussed Insurance Renewals with Wellmark increasing 7%, Delta Dental a 4% increase, Avesis having no change, and EMC having a 6% decrease in premiums. Peterson made a motion to approve Insurance Renewals, seconded by Hodges, all ayes, motion carried.

Peterson made a motion to approve City Wide Clean Up dates for April 28-May 4, 2025, seconded by Tull, all ayes, motion carried.

Hodges made a motion to approve Paint Disposal date of May 3, 2025, seconded by Cruz, all ayes, motion carried.

At 5:40 PM Tull opened the Public Hearing on Proposal to Enter into a General Obligation Corporate Purpose Loan Agreement, seconded by Hodges. There were no comments heard from the public. At 5:42 PM, Peterson closed the Public Hearing, seconded by Hodges, all ayes, motion carried.

Peterson made a motion to approve Taylor County Pony Express Special Event Permit for April 18, 2025, seconded by Tull, all ayes, motion carried.

Hodges made a motion to approve Lenox Chamber Old Fashioned Fun Night for July 23, 2025, seconded by Cruz, all ayes, motion carried.

Tull made a motion to approve Lenox Chamber Farmer’s Market/Festival Special Event Permit for June 7, July 12, and August 23, 2025, seconded by Hodges, all ayes, motion carried.

Tull made a motion to approve Resolution 25-18 Taking Additional Action on Proposal to Enter into A General Obligation Corporate Purpose Loan Agreement and Providing for the Levy of Taxes to Pay General Obligation Corporate Purpose Note, Series 2025, seconded by Hodges, all ayes, motion carried.

Tull motioned to adjourn the meeting, Hodges seconded, all ayes, motion carried. Meeting adjourned at 5:48 PM.
