CITY COUNCIL REGULAR MEETING MINUTES
January 27, 2025 - 5:30 p.m. - City Hall
A regular meeting of the Lenox City Council was called to order by Mayor ProTem Tull on January 27, 2025 at 5:30 p.m. at City Hall with the following council members answering roll call: Peterson, Nelson, Tull and Cruz; Hodges was absent. Staff present was City Administrator, Allison Kitzman, City Clerk, Dawne Bowman and Gas Superintendent, Blake Horton. Visitors were Barb Gerber and Colleen Larimer.
Nelson made a motion to approve the agenda, seconded by Peterson, all ayes, motion carried. Peterson made a motion to approve 1/13/25 meeting minutes, seconded by Nelson, all ayes, motion carried. Cruz made a motion to approve payment of the bills, seconded by Peterson, all ayes, motion carried.
A discussion was held on the stray cats within city limits. Kitzman had a conversation with Doc Haidsiak at Tri- County Vet Clinic regarding the issue, in which Doc explained he would be willing to help out. The cost would could be up to $300 per cat, which would include rabies and spay/neuter fees. This would not include any boarding, microchipping or ear clipping. Peterson also spoke with Dr. Lauren Hensley regarding the issue. Kitzman stated that this could not happen until July for budget purposes. There were questions/concerns regarding implementing a program; however, it was decided to bring this topic back in June with possible ideas.
Nelson made a motion to approve Cafe Sign Floral & Gift Class B Retail Native Wine License Permanent Premise Transfer, seconded by Cruz, all ayes, motion carried.
Cruz made a motion to approve JP's Special Class C Retail Alcohol License, seconded by Nelson, all ayes, motion carried.
Blake Horton presented the Council with a power point on Public Awareness for Lenox Gas System.
Peterson motioned to adjourn the meeting, Cruz seconded, all ayes, motion carried. Meeting adjourned at 5:50 PM.
