CITY COUNCIL REGULAR MEETING MINUTES

February 24, 2025 - 5:30 p.m. - City Hall

A regular meeting of the Lenox City Council was called to order by Mayor Douglas on February 24, 2025 at 5:30 p.m. at City Hall with the following council members answering roll call: Peterson, Tull, Hodges and Cruz. Staff present was City Clerk, Dawne Bowman, with visitors, Shari Burger, Kay Smith, Jo Adams and Colleen Larimer.

Hodges made a motion to approve the agenda, seconded by Tull, all ayes, motion carried. Peterson made a motion to approve 2/10/25 meeting minutes, seconded by Cruz, all ayes, motion carried. Tull made a motion to approve payment of the bills, seconded by Hodges, all ayes, motion carried.

There was a discussion on the Taylor County Endowment Grant for the Library. Hodges went and looked at the back wall, stating there is a water issue and the plaster is coming off on the interior. Shari Burger and Kay Smith were present. At the last meeting, the council asked for a drawing of the handicap ramp and clarification if the AC needed to be moved. Burger did not have details on either of these. Smith commented that securing the wall at this time is more important than the ramp. It was the consensus of the council that the water issue needs to be addressed. After much discussion, Peterson made a motion to deny the application for the Taylor County Endowment Grant for the Library, seconded by Tull, all ayes, motion carried.

Hodges made a motion to approve Resolution 25- 09 Adopting Wellness Plan, seconded by Tull, all ayes, motion carried.

Peterson made a motion to approve Resolution 25- 10 Adopting Changes to Employee Handbook Relating to Wellness Plan, seconded by Hodges, all ayes, motion carried.

Peterson made a motion to approve Resolution 25- 11 Setting Time and Date of March 24, 2025 at 5:00PM for Public Hearing on Proposed Property Tax Levy, seconded by Cruz, all ayes, motion carried.

There was 1 bid received for 3- year contract for Park Mowing and Spraying, which was from Lincoln's Lawn Care.

Peterson made a motion to approve Park Mowing and Spraying Contract to Lincoln's Lawn Care in the amount of $165 per mowing/trimming and $245 per spraying, seconded by Tull, all ayes, motion carried.

Jo Adams was present to update on the Walking Trail Project, stating that the CAT Grant was received, so the project is fully funded. Tull made a motion to approve moving forward with the Walking Trail Project, seconded by Hodges, all ayes, motion carried.

Peterson motioned to adjourn the meeting, Tull seconded, all ayes, motion carried. Meeting adjourned at 6:10 PM.
