CITY COUNCIL REGULAR MEETING MINUTES

June 10, 2024 - 5:30 p.m. - City Hall

A regular meeting of the Lenox City Council was called to order by Mayor Douglas on June 10, 2024 at 5:30 p.m. at City Hall with the following council members answering roll call: Peterson, Tull, Hodges and Cruz; Nelson was absent. Staff present was City Clerk, Dawne Bowman and City Administrator, Allison Kitzman. Visitors were Colleen Larimer and Mike and Becky Smith.

Tull made a motion to approve the agenda, seconded by Hodges, all ayes, motion carried. Peterson made a motion to approve 6/10/24 meeting minutes, seconded by Cruz, all ayes, motion carried. Tull made a motion to approve payment of the bills, seconded by Hodges, all ayes, motion carried. Hodges made a motion to approve May 2024 Clerk Treasurer Report, seconded by Tull, all ayes, motion carried.

Mike and Becky Smith were present to discuss the Catalyst Grant and their progress. Smith stated that she was in contact with the Iowa Economic Development and they could be granted a 6- month extension after a Draw Request has been made, as they need to have active progress. Peterson made a motion to approve Draw Request #1 for Café Sign Floral and Gift for Catalyst Grant in the amount of $60,000, seconded by Hodges, all ayes, motion carried. Smith added they are ready to begin the back patio and would like permission for a storage container to house the smoker, for compliance. They assured the council the storage container will be painted to match the rest of the building, will not affect any views from the alleyway and it will not interfere with the adjoining businesses. Kitzman provided them with a building permit for the container.

Hodges made a motion to approve El Guero Mexican Restaurants and Cantinas, LLC Class C Alcohol License Renewal, seconded by Tull, all ayes, motion carried.

Peterson made a motion to approve Dally Post Saloon, LLC Class C Alcohol License with Outdoor Area Renewal, seconded by Cruz, all ayes, motion carried.

Tull made a motion to approve CDBG Draw #14 LMU Water Project in the amount of $836, seconded by Hodges, all ayes, motion carried.

Hodges made a motion to approve CDBG Budget Amendment for Contract 21- WS- 029 LMU Water Project, seconded by Peterson, all ayes, motion carried. Kitzman mentioned this is due to decrease in administration fees.

Tull motioned to adjourn the meeting, Cruz seconded, all ayes, motion carried. Meeting adjourned at 5:45 PM.
