CITY OF LENOX

A regular meeting of the Lenox City Council was called to order by Mayor Douglas on October 24, 2022 at 5:30 p.m. at City Hall with the following council members answering roll call: Bowman, Nelson, Tull, Zabel and Cruz. Staff present were City Clerk, Dawne Bowman and City Administrator, Allison Kitzman. Visitors attending were Colleen Larimer and Deputy Lynn.

Bowman made a motion to approve the agenda, seconded by Tull, all ayes, motion carried. Zabel made a motion to approve 10/10/22 meeting minutes, seconded by Nelson, all ayes, motion carried. Tull made a motion to approve the payment of bills, seconded by Nelson, all ayes, motion carried.

Nelson made a motion to approve Tiger Lanes Class C Liquor License, seconded by Tull, all ayes, motion carried.

Kitzman discussed Urban Revitalization Plan- Tax Abatement plan that has not been updated since 1991. SICOG can update this plan for $2,600 plus any mileage, in which Kitzman does not foresee. Bowman made a motion to approve Agreement with SICOG for an updated Urban Revitalization Plan - Tax Abatement, seconded by Cruz, all ayes, motion carried.

Kitzman also discussed the Urban Renewal Plan- TIF that was updated in 2008, although there have been additional TIF projects since then. SICOG can update this plan for $5,000 plus any mileage. Zabel made a motion to approve Agreement with SICOG for an updated Urban Renewal Plan - TIF, seconded by Bowman, all ayes, motion carried.

Kitzman discussed quotes for a new mower at the Golf Course. The quotes are for a Trimax Snake 10' mow width in the amount of $40,608.24 and a Trimax Snake 13' mow width in the amount of $41,642.35. These quotes also allow a $10,000 trade in on the current pull type mower and an $8,000 trade in on the fairway mower that would no longer be needed. Kitzman mentioned that Clint Crill suggested to sell the fairway mower outright, as he thinks it's worth more than $8,000. Zabel made a motion to approve the purchase of the Trimax Snake 13' mow width to include the $10,000 trade in on the pull type mower and selling the fairway mower outright, seconded by Bowman, all ayes, motion carried.

Kitzman discussed our recent City Attorney, Andrew Zimmerman has resigned and Matt Hanson has agreed to be the City Attorney for the City of Lenox. Hanson also works closely with Erin Hardisty for nuisance abatements, since he would not be able to represent the City on nuisances. Kitzman added that this agreement will include Wilson, Hanson & Associates and The Law Shop by Skogerson McGinn LLC. Bowman made a motion to approve Resolution 22- 36 Appointing City Attorney, Matt Hanson, seconded by Nelson. Roll call votes- all ayes, motion carried.

Kitzman discussed the housekeeping position at City Hall, as Jenny Robinson is currently hired, along with her daughter, Dayna Robinson. Jenny would like to step down and allow her daughter to continue taking on this position. Zabel asked if any notice was posted regarding the position. This will be tabled until the next meeting, to allow time for the position to be posted.

Deputy Lynn reported on a couple search warrants.

Cruz motioned to adjourn the meeting, Nelson seconded, all ayes, motion carried. Meeting adjourned at 5:50 P.M.
