CITY OF LENOX

A regular meeting of the Lenox City Council was called to order by Mayor Douglas on July 12, 2021 at 5:30 p.m. at City Hall with the following council members answering roll call: Cruz, Tull and Zabel; Brown and Bowman were absent. Staff present was City Administrator, Allison Kitzman. Colleen Larimer was also present.

Tull made a motion to approve the agenda, seconded by Cruz, all ayes, motion carried. Zabel made a motion to approve 06/28/21 meeting minutes, seconded by Tull, all ayes, motion carried. Zabel made a motion to approve the payment of bills, seconded by Cruz, all ayes, motion carried. Tull made a motion to approve Clerk Treasurer Report June 2021, seconded by Zabel, all ayes, motion carried.

Brown entered the meeting at 5:33 P.M.

Kitzman reported the asbestos testing for the library's ceiling tiles came back negative but still waiting on the lead testing. Discussion was held on moving the barricades for Family Fun Night to accommodate the inflatables. It was the consensus of the Council to only move the barricades if it was not going to disrupt the work being done on the building.

Brown made a motion to approve the Sorority's Special Event Permit for the Rodeo Parade on July 21, 2021 at 7:00 P.M., seconded by Tull, all ayes, motion carried.

Brown made a motion to approve Dally Post Hogue Wedding Class C Liquor License with outdoor service at the Community Center on August 7th, seconded by Cruz, all ayes, motion carried.

Deputy Pafford entered the meeting at 5:42 P.M.

Zabel made a motion to Approve Resolution 21- 30 To Participate in Planning and Development Programs of the Southern Iowa Council of Governments, seconded by Brown, all ayes, motion carried.

Tull made a motion to approve the 3rd and final reading of Ordinance 391 Amending Rates for Lenox Gas System, seconded by Brown, all ayes, motion carried.

Pafford reported writing 3 citations for firework code violations. Two have plead guilty and one has pleaded not guilty.

Brown moved to adjourn the meeting, Tull seconded, all ayes, motion carried. Meeting adjourned at 5:54 P.M.
