City Council Regular Meeting Minutes

July 22, 2019 · 5:30 p.m. · City Hall

A regular meeting of the Lenox City Council was called to order by Mayor Douglas on July 22, 2019 at 5:30 p.m. at City Hall with the following council members answering roll call: Vogel, Borland, Custer and Bowman. Staff present was City Administrator, Allison Kitzman and City Clerk, Dawne Bowman. Other visitors were Craig David, Shari Burger, Deputy Lynn, Deputy Calfee and Colleen Larimer.

Bowman made a motion to approve the agenda, seconded by Borland, all ayes, motion carried.

Custer made a motion to approve 7/8/19 meeting minutes, seconded by Vogel, all ayes, motion carried. Vogel made a motion to approve the payment of the bills, seconded by Bowman, all ayes, motion carried. Borland made a motion to approve June 2019 Clerk Treasurer Report, seconded by Vogel, all ayes, motion carried.

There was a discussion held on Craig David’s estimate for library repairs. The estimate is for tearing off the façade of the library at $120.00 per hour. The council questioned the amount of time it will take, as we are unsure of what’s under the façade and the condition of it. It is important to water proof the building until there is a plan for the masonry work. Bowman made a motion to approve Craig David’s estimate for library repairs starting with 50 hours at a rate of $120.00, seconded by Borland, all ayes, motion carried.

Shari Burger presented the council with the annual library report.

Borland made a motion to approve 3rd final reading of Ordinance 386 Amending Rates for Lenox Gas System, seconded by Bowman, all ayes, motion carried.

Borland made a motion to approve Dally Post Special Event Permit application for the Rodeo Dance, seconded by Custer, all ayes, motion carried.

Custer made a motion to approve Dally Post Outdoor Service Privilege liquor license, seconded by Vogel, all ayes, motion carried.

Bowman made a motion to approve CDBG Draw #3 for PPLC in the amount of $4,547, seconded by Custer, all ayes, motion carried.

Borland made a motion to approve Lenox Sorority Sisters Special Event Permit application for the Rodeo Parade, seconded by Custer, all ayes, motion carried.

Kitzman discussed the formality of filling a vacancy on the council and this is scheduled for the August 12, 2019 meeting.

Bowman moved to adjourn the meeting, Custer seconded, all ayes, motion carried. Meeting adjourned at 5:55 P.M.
