City Council Regular Meeting Minutes

June 24, 2019 · 5:30 p.m. · City Hall

A regular meeting of the Lenox City Council was called to order by Mayor Douglas on June 24, 2019 at 5:30 p.m. at City Hall with the following council members answering roll call: Bowman, Borland, Custer; Vogel and Ramsey was absent. Staff present was City Clerk, Dawne Bowman. Other visitors were Jeff Godwin and Colleen Larimer.

Bowman made a motion to approve the agenda, seconded by Custer, all ayes, motion carried.

Bowman made a motion to approve 6/10/19 meeting minutes with correction of Bowman seconded the adjourning of the meeting, seconded by Borland, all ayes, motion carried. Custer made a motion to approve the payment of the bills, seconded by Bowman, all ayes, motion carried.

Ramsey entered the meeting at 5:34 PM.

Custer made a motion to approve Resolution 19-23 Approving Contract and Bonds for Bioswale Project from JNC Construction, seconded by Bowman, all ayes, motion carried.

Jeff Godwin, with Snyder & Associates was present to discuss the golf course sponsored project with a price of approximately $74,000. This will be on the next agenda.

Custer made a motion to approve Change Order #2 to Zero Out Walking Trail Quantities, seconded by Ramsey, all ayes, motion carried.

Custer made a motion to approve Resolution 19-19 Employee Wages for 2019-2020 FY, seconded by Ramsey, all ayes, motion carried. Wages are as follows: Ryan Brown $21.50, Lynn Christensen $26.50, Quent Dalton $26.50, Blake Horton $23.00, Dawne Bowman $22.48, Allison Kitzman $65,564.00, Shari Burger $15.91, Haley Smith $9.77, Carol Rogers $9.77 and Deb Tillman $13.00.

Bowman made a motion to approve Resolution 19-20 Regarding Library Special Fund Investment, seconded by Custer, all ayes, motion carried.

Bowman made a motion to approve Resolution 19-21 to Participate in Planning and Development Programs of the South Iowa Council of Governments (SICOG), seconded by Ramsey, all ayes, motion carried.

Bowman made a motion to approve Resolution 19-22 Increase Rates for Prescott Natural Gas System from $.20 CCF to $.26 CCF, seconded by Borland, all ayes, motion carried.

Borland made a motion to approve 1st Reading Ordinance 386 Amending Rates for Lenox Natural Gas System, seconded by Bowman, all ayes, motion carried. This ordinance would increase the Residential Meter Fee from $5.00 to $8.00 and the Farm Tap/Commercial Meter Fee from $10.00 to $15.00, the Rotary Meter Fee would remain the same at $100.00.

Ramsey moved to adjourn the meeting, Custer seconded, all ayes, motion carried. Meeting adjourned at 5:52 P.M.
