City Council Regular Meeting Minutes
January 22, 2018 · 5:30 p.m. · City Hall
A regular meeting of the Lenox City Council was called to order by Mayor Douglas on January 22, 2018 at 5:30 p.m. at City Hall with the following council members answering roll call: Bowman, Ramsey, Vogel, Borland and Custer. Staff present was City Administrator, Allison Kitzman and City Clerk, Dawne Bowman. Other visitors were Coleen Larimer, Rob Lundquist, Jasmine and Ximena Govea.
Bowman made a motion to approve the agenda, seconded by Vogel, all ayes, motion carried.
Borland made a motion to approve 1/8/18 meeting minutes, seconded by Custer, all ayes, motion carried. Vogel made a motion to approve the payment of the bills, seconded by Borland, all ayes, motion carried. Custer made a motion to approve December 2017 Clerk Treasurer Report, seconded by Vogel, motion carried.
Jasmine Govea was present to ask permission from the council to allow her father, Jose Govea to keep a goat in the yard at 504 East Temple, as it was a gift to her daughter, Ximena and they did not know they couldn’t have it. As this was not on the agenda, it will be on the next agenda; however, in the meantime, the goat must remain tied up and not allowed to run loose and the Mayor advised Govea to be looking for a possible home for the goat in the event it is not allowed.
Rob Lundquist was present to answer any questions regarding the re-bidding for the Neighborhood Center Building Addition. Lundquist stated there were 8 bidders this time around versus the 1 bidder the first time. Custer made a motion to approve Resolution 18-04 Authorizing Bids for the Neighborhood Center Building Addition Re-Bid, seconded by Borland, all ayes, motion carried.
The Council approved the Mayor’s 2018 Appointment of Council Committees, Mayor Pro Tem and Fire Chief.
Bowman made a motion to approve February 26, 2018 at 5:45 PM for the Public Hearing for Budget FY 18/19, seconded by Custer, all ayes, motion carried.
Kitzman discussed the deposit fees for the Community Center and the Depot, due to people renting, then not showing up. It was decided to leave the deposit fees the same; however, the deposit must be paid prior to booking. Renters will also sign a contract stating that failure to cancel within 30 days will result in the City keeping the entire deposit amount.
Ramsey moved to adjourn the meeting, Custer seconded, all ayes, motion carried. Meeting adjourned at 6:15 P.M.
