November 27, 2017 - 5:30 p.m. - City Hall

A regular meeting of the Lenox City Council was called to order by Mayor Douglas on November 27, 2017 at 5:30 p.m. at City Hall with the following council members answering roll call: Bowman, Adams, Vogel, Borland and Custer. Staff present was City Administrator, Allison Kitzman and City Clerk, Dawne Bowman. Other visitors were Coleen Larimer, Deputy Pafford and Deputy Calfee.

Adams made a motion to approve the agenda, seconded by Custer, all ayes, motion carried. Custer made a motion to approve 11/13/17 meeting minutes, seconded by Adams, all ayes, motion carried. Vogel made a motion to approve the payment of the bills, seconded by Borland, all ayes, motion carried.

Deputy Pafford reported for the Sheriff's Department.

Kitzman discussed Creative Placemaking by McClure Engineering from the previous meeting. John Borland met with Kitzman and advised her that LMU was not interested, nor was the Development Corporation in splitting the $25,000 for this study to be done. Bowman would like the City to continue with the Housing 360; however, does not want the City to be the only contributor, as there are other projects to focus on at this time. Custer agreed and suggested getting in touch with Stanton on the status of their involvement. It was also discussed to form a committee and have a"chairperson". The Mayor was concerned that the City has paid for studies in the past that would mimic this same type of engineering study. Kitzman advised that this study was basically for economic development, not just city buildings. The Council has decided not to take any action on this at this time.

Adams made a motion to approve Resolution 17- 36 Setting Time and Date of 12/11/17 at 5:45 PM for the Public Hearing to Sell City Owned Property at 106 West Ohio, seconded by Custer, all aye, motion carried.

The Council completed the 2018 Community and Economic Development Priorities Questionnaire for SICOG.

There was a follow- up discussion held on the Rental Housing Inspection Code from the last meeting. Due to other priorities, it was decided to review this at a later date.

Custer made a motion to approve Connie Sawyer to the Library Board to fill unexpired term, ending 7/2018, seconded by Adams, all aye, motion carried.

Adams moved to adjourn the meeting, Custer seconded, all ayes, motion carried. Meeting adjourned at 6:08 P.M.
