CITY COUNCIL REGULAR MEETING MINUTES

February 9, 2026 5:30 p.m. City Hall

A regular meeting of the Lenox City Council was called to order by Mayor Douglas on February 9, 2026 at 5:30 p.m. at City Hall with the following council members answering roll call: Peterson, Huffman, Tull and Hodges. Staff present was City Administrator, Allison Kitzman and City Clerk, Dawne Bowman. Visitors at the meeting were Deputy Peterson and Colleen Larimer[cite: 13].

Tull made a motion to approve the agenda, seconded by Hodges, all ayes, motion carried[cite: 13]. Peterson made a motion to approve 1/26/26 regular meeting minutes, seconded by Huffman, all ayes, motion carried[cite: 13]. Tull made a motion to approve payment of the 2/09/26 bills, seconded by Hodges, all ayes, motion carried[cite: 13]. Tull made a motion to approve January 2026 Clerk Treasurer Report, seconded by Peterson, all ayes, motion carried[cite: 13].

Hodges made a motion to approve re-appointment of Paula Horton to the Low Rent Housing Board for term of 2 years, ending December 2027, seconded by Huffman, all ayes, motion carried[cite: 13].

Tull made a motion to approve re-appointment of Jennie Tyler to the Low Rent Housing Board for term of 2 years, ending February 2028, seconded by Hodges, all ayes, motion carried[cite: 13].

Peterson made a motion to approve re-appointment of Taylor Maynes, Daniel Stewart and Ron Tvinnereim to the Golf Board for term of 2 years, ending February 2028, seconded by Huffman, all ayes, motion carried[cite: 13].

Kitzman discussed the council vacancy position and advised that there had been no applicants and she can publish it again and if there are still no applicants, we would have to hold a Special Election, which might be costly[cite: 13]. It was agreed to republish with the applications due by 4PM on 2/19/26 to be placed on the next agenda[cite: 13]. This term would end December 31, 2027[cite: 13].

Peterson made a motion to approve Resolution 26-04 Approving Agreement for DOT Initiated Detour of Primary Highways on Local Roads, seconded by Hodges, all ayes, motion carried[cite: 13]. This will be for a construction project on Hwy 148 in 2029[cite: 13].

Deputy Peterson informed the council of January happening in Lenox, with the number of tickets, warnings and accidents[cite: 13]. Councilmen Peterson asked if those figures were in line with Bedford activity as well[cite: 13]. Deputy Peterson did not have that information[cite: 13].

Tull motioned to adjourn the meeting, Hodges seconded, all ayes, motion carried[cite: 13]. Meeting adjourned at 5:45 PM[cite: 13].
